AnimEarth
This year, for the first time in its history TAF hosts a special animation unit on the environment as part of the 4th Thessaloniki Animation Festival.
This tribute is implemented by the Operational Program“ Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning” and its co-financed by the European Union (European Social Fund) and Greek National Funds.
The “AnimEARTH” tribute is free of entrance and the venue has easy access for people with limited mobility.

Luz Anima Ação/Between Frames – The Art of Brazilian Animation
The documentary tells the story of the heroic Brazilian animation through interviews with animators such as Carlos Saldanha, Mauricio de Sousa and Otto Guerra among others. The film reconstructs the lost pioneer Kaiser (1917) with a collective animation done by 8 animators.

Stop Motion Workshop for children by Yannis Texis.
In this workshop we will create subgroups and learn about the stop motion animation technique with the help from tablets that we will bring with us.
Results such as animation movies will be created.
We will use child-friendly materials, learn how to give life and create small animated films, while learning to collaborate with other children in our group.

Storytelling without Borders
This project is a creative collaboration between 5 organizations from Sweden and Greece, with coordinating partner Filmcentrum.
The program aims to approach as many refugees and children as possible and help them socialize and express themselves.
To this end, AddArt is setting up workshops to create stop motion animation films with refugee children.
Through narration and the art of short animation films with the stop motion technique, the project aims to spread the stories of children and youngsters of the refugees.
Part of this effort will be screened in TAF.
